Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association elects

Albert Fried-Cassorla as President

Melrose Park, PA - Albert Fried-Cassorla has been elected President of the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association for the organization's 2004-2005 term.

"This is not only a great honor, but a wonderful opportunity to reach out with fresh ideas to the marketing community," he said. "PDMA is the largest, most active marketing group in Philadelphia. Because of the talents and energies of our members, we're now in a position to grow exponentially." 

The Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association was founded in the 1942 as the Philadelphia Direct Mail Club.The organization conducts many events around the year, including educational

 

conferences and seminars, in addition to philanthropic events. Members belong to a variety of firms, such as: Aetna US Heath care, MBNA America Bank, N.A., Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, ASTM International, Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation, and other companies.

Albert Fried-Cassorla is president and copywriter for Fried-Cassorla Communications, Inc., a direct response agency. He has been involved in the organization as a board member, chairman of the group's Database Marketing Council, and other volunteer capacities since the early 1990's. Fried-Cassorla has published Imagination That Sells: The Pharmaceutical Database Marketing Manual, and numerous articles on direct marketing. His literary skills as an accomplished author and writer extend beyond the professional and encompass three books on in-line skating and skateboarding, as well as several plays. He has had comedies performed recently in Philadelphia and Cheltenham, PA. For several semesters, he has served as Adjunct Professor of Advertising at Temple University in Philadelphia. Mr. Fried-Cassorla is also president and co-founder of the Melrose Park Neighbors Association.

In his career as a direct marketer, Mr. Fried-Cassorla has sold more than $220 million in goods and services directly attributable to campaigns for which he wrote and frequently also managed production. He has won six PDMA Benjamin Franklin Awards for Direct Marketing Excellence (Bennies). He has also been recognized by their highest award honor, the Thomas Black Best of Show Award. He has won six Bennies over the years for his work on behalf of Scott Paper Company / Kimberly Clark, Summer Laboratories, U.S. Pharmacopeia, Thomas Publishing, and most recently MAC Direct.
