Philadelphia in Photos

Last updated 1/28/02

This page is my tribute to my adopted town, Philadelphia. This is true, even though I now live in Montgomery County! The fact is, I am a part of the region. Although born and bred in Brooklyn and Long Island, New York, I have made this my home for more than 25 years. Let me know what you think of these shots. They were taken, shaped and posted with love.

Boathouse Row 1, facing south towards the skyline.

Boathouse Row 2, with geese and dock

Center City Bridge over the Schuylkill River.

 Cafe Habana in Center City.

 North Philadelphia Station, at sunset.

Boathouse Row 3, showing corner window. Notice the Victorian spindled columns and graduated oriel window bottom.

 Boathouse Row 4, Vesper House.

Boathouse Row 5, at dusk looking northward. I was surprised and delighted that I caught the glinting sun on the water. Hpe you like it as much as I do!

Schuylkill Scene, with in-line skater. I took this shot from the passenger side of a moving car. I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did! The Kelly Drive Bike Path is great for relaxing, working out, or people-watching.

Rose Tatto Restaurant at dusk. This is a fine Center City restaurant with great cuisine and an unusual, new Orleans-style interior.

Rose Tatto balcony, showing diners on the left and elaborate wrought iron railings and lighting fixtures in the main dining room below.I am not the best at timed exposures without flash, but I hope you get a sense of the romantic atmosphere.

 Liberty One, taken at dusk.

North Broad Street Mural, on a building near Temple University Hospital. It shows care, concern, intergenerational affection. It's a winner!

Train Shed Mural, within the Gallery station stop of SEPTA. This is a gateway to the Convention center. The mural harkens back to the 1930's and the great days of railroading. (At 10th and Market, approximately)

Veteran's Stadium 1, a view from center field, August 11, 2001. Phillies beat the Dodgers, 7-4.

Vets' Stadium Dog-Puppet-Man. A cheerful sight and fellow! Typical and sights you will see at a game.

Vets' Stadium exterior. Ugly by day, prettier at night. And maybe not long for this world, since a new stadium may replace it. 2001.

Vets Stadium Scene 2. Robert Person pitches to a Dodger. Great seats, 50' from home plate.
